About Agoo
Named for the word you call at the door.
Across Ghana, a visitor stands at the threshold and calls “Agoo!”, may I come in? From inside comes the answer, “Amee”: come in, you are welcome. It is courteous, quick, and everyone knows who is in the house.
That exchange is what we are building for every organisation’s front door.
Agoo? Amee.

Why we built it
Front doors deserve better than a paper book.
Walk into most offices, schools, hospitals or churches and you will find the same thing at the entrance: a paper register, a pen on a string, and a guard doing his best. Nobody can read the handwriting later, and nobody knows who is still inside when something goes wrong.
The tools built abroad assume constant internet, card payments in dollars and visitors who read email. That is not how most African organisations work. So we built Agoo around what is true here: mobile money, SMS on any phone, networks that drop, and front desks that need to be fast and kind.
Agoo was founded, designed and developed by Mawuli Dzaka under the Ardent Africa Foundation LBG, a company limited by guarantee registered in Ghana. It is built in Accra.
